ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA POLYTECHNIC STATE UNIVERSITY (PIO) – Classes of all levels in the university for the academic year 2026-2027 have officially begun this week as the entire community convened for the open house event held at the gymnasium last Monday, August 10.
ZPPSU President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral officially welcomed the students and emphasized that this new academic year will bring new opportunities, meaningful discoveries, and transformative experiences that will shape their future.
“This year reminds us that every new chapter carries the promise of growth, innovation, and excellence,” Dr. Cabral said.
The president has also proudly declared “Padayun ZPPSU 2026-2027,” inviting everyone to carry the spirit of unity, excellence, perseverance in every endeavor to undertake.
Further, in his response, Supreme Student Council President and Student Regent Hon. Karl Centinales expressed the council’s commitment to listen, represent, and serve the entire student body of the university.
“We will continue to create spaces where your voices can be heard and where your concerns can be brought forward. We may not have all the answers, but we promise that we will always be willing to listen, to learn, and to work with you,” Hon. Centinales stressed.
During the event, the university welcomed the students with a variety of performances, booths from the different colleges, a presentation of the student council, introduction of key officials, recognition of the ZPPSU-Football Team, and the awarding of financial assistance and school supplies to students with disabilities, sponsored by AFTEA.
This year is anchored to the theme “New Beginnings, Bold Futures.”
