ZPPSU inks MOU with 2nd Maintenance Battalio, Army Support Command

Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the 2nd Maintenance Battalion, Army Support Command at MEIC, Lot 2, today. “As we strive for excellence in service delivery, let us embrace transparency, ensuring that skills and knowledge flow openly and remain accessible to all stakeholders. Accountability serves as our compass, guiding our actions and decisions, while responsiveness ensures timely and adaptive service,” affirmed Dr. Rolando A. Malalay, VP for Research and Extension. This MOU with 2MBN (P), led by LT COL Gerry E. Casalmer, Commanding Officer, establishes a commitment between the parties to foster collaboration and cooperation for mutual development. The agreement outlines various programs and activities in research, extension, curriculum development, and instruction, including — Training and Extension Services, Access to Facilities and Resources, Joint Community Needs Assessment, Shared Training and Logistics Support, Professional Development Initiatives, Research and Extension Collaboration, Logistical and Venue Support, and other Educational Activities. ZPPSU joins Leadership Summit 2025

Student leaders from the different organizations of the main and extension campuses of Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University led by President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral, attended the 2025 Leadership Summit in Tangub City on February 08. Along with ZPPSU were student leaders from Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST) led by OIC-President Mr. Roderick Trio, and Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (NMSCST) headed by OIC-President Dr. Cabral. ZSCMST President Trio, who was also the keynote speaker, affirmed the students to be environmental leaders with purpose. “The world needs leader who does not just speak about change but embody it in their action. The world needs leaders who possess vision, purpose, and passion,” the speaker said. Further, ZPPSU-Supreme Student Council Hon. Jet Ryan Lozano, expressed appreciation to the initiative to convene the different leaders from the three esteemed universities in Mindanao archipelago. “We, the ZPPSU is very thankful for this summit because through this, we can share our best practices and initiatives to other student officers of other SUCs,” Hon. ZPPSU presents proposed budget for FY 2026 at RDC IX

Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU) presented its proposed programs and projects during the Regional Development Council IX (RDC IX) Review of Priority Programs and Projects for the FY 2026 Budget, held at the Grand Astoria Hotel on February 5. University President 𝐃𝐫. 𝐍𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐏. 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐥, together with the Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance Ms. Josephine L. Sulasula, Budget Officer Ms. Zandra Gale Tablante, Supervising Administrative Officer for Finance Ms. Maria Cristina Vergara, and Planning Officer Engr. Edabel Jane Falcasantos presented the university’s major programs and projects. The three (3) key higher education programs proposed include the Higher Education Program, Research Program, and Technical Advisory and Extension Program, with a total budget amounting to PHP 2.6 billion. RDC IX Chairperson Honorable Mayor John Dalipe, along with Maria Felicidad R. Guerrero, RDC IX Acting Vice-Chairperson and NEDA IX OIC-Regional Director, convened the Joint Advisory Committee and Executive Committee for the RDC IX Review of Priority Programs and Projects for the FY 2026 Budget. Zamboanga City Volleyball Club (ZCVC) made history after having its debut on PNVF U-21 National Championship snatching the silver. Despite falling short against the well established University of the East Boys Volleyball Team on the championship match, ZCVC showed tenacity and resilience giving a great fight from the first set down to the fourth. This milestone of our youngsters, is an evidence of a well-rounded sports development program of the university and the city. Castillo, Miguel, Javier, Sioting, Manas, together with their head coach Mr. Kerwin Francisco and Asst. Coach Dr. Sammy Paringit, all aimed high in representing our region. ZPPSU holds #NAM2025 opening today

Once again, Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University is set to highlight the talents of student-artists, who continue to represent the institution in various contests both in local and national platforms. The opening of the month-long celebration has officially kicked off this morning, which was facilitated by the ZPPSU-Office of the Culture and Arts headed by Ms. Jessamine Andajao and Supreme Student Council Adviser Mr. Marc Jones Barredo and SSC President Hon. Jet Ryan Lozano. Following the commemoration, the SSC has also distributed the ceiling fans among the local student offices of the different colleges.
