Advancing research excellence, educational innovation, and internationalization, the university recently participated in the 5th International Research and Education Conference 2026 with a series of benchmarking engagements, organized by the Association of Filipino Teachers and Educators in America (AFTEA), in partnership with the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines, held at the City University of New York (CUNY)–LaGuardia and key destinations across United States from June 26 to July 5, this year.

Distinguished student leaders from the different student governing bodies across the campuses of the university in Zamboanga Peninsula archipelago collated for the four-day Leadership Congress activity following a series of upskilling leadership sessions, held in Zamboanga City from July 23 to 26, this year.

President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral encouraged the entire community to engage and commit to the internationalization efforts of the university as this envisions to be recognized in the World University Ranking for Innovation (WURI) through its unique best practices and impact-driven programs.

In line with its commitment to advancing ethical, responsible, and high-quality research, the university, through its Research Ethics Committee (REC), successfully conducted a 3-Day Basic Research Ethics Training Workshop, held at Seafoods Restaurant, in this city from July 21 to 23, this year.

University officials have collaborated with higher education leaders, administrators, policymakers, faculty members, researchers, extension practitioners, and development partners in the 2026 PASUC Annual Convention and General Assembly at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Pasay City from July 13 to 15, this year.

Under the leadership of University President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral, the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU) welcomed a courtesy visit from representatives of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) following the June 28, this year landing of two military helicopters within the University campus. The visit highlighted the shared commitment of both institutions to transparency, accountability, and strengthened inter-agency coordination.
