ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA POLYTECHNIC STATE UNIVERSITY (PIO) — The Research Ethics Committee (REC) of the university remained steady in ensuring the ethical compliance of the researchers in their respective studies.
The committee headed by Atty. Marti W. Gregorio led the conduct of the two-day seminar-workshop on Good Research Practice Training, in partnership with the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB), held in a hotel last July 15 to 16, this year.

The training aims to ensure research quality and validity, promote ethical conduct, build public trust, and ultimately, to foster research excellence among researchers as well as to amplify the integrity of the university.
Respected speakers from Mariano Marcos State University Mr. Ryan Dean T. Sucgang, and Ateneo De Manila University Dr. Ruben C. Mendoza profoundly emphasized the prerequisite of ethical standards in research implementation.

The facilitators have stressed out the affability of the study to the participants and its potential benefits to the broader community.
The ethical review process was also discussed with the attendees, anchored by four essential characteristics — independent, competent, pluralistic, and transparent.

The seminar was participated by thirty (30) selected faculty members of the university, with Basic Ethics Research Training. (JRA/ABC/Public Information Office)
