ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA POLYTECHNIC STATE UNIVERSITY (PIO) — With the full guidance and support of President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral and Vice President for Research, Development and Extension Dr. Rolando P. Malalay, the delegation embarked on a meaningful learning visit to Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU) in Dapitan City, Zamboanga Del Norte Province on October 22, this year.
The visit forms part of ZPPSU’s preparations, as the university is currently developing its own dedicated research and extension framework with the College of Engineering and Technology, designated as the pilot college for the initiative.

The visit provided the perfect opportunity to learn about JRMSU’s way of doing things — how it operates, the challenges that have been navigated, and the milestones achieved.

The insights gathered will serve as a vital reference as ZPPSU carefully designs and adapts its own framework before rolling it out across the university.
The team extends its deepest appreciation to JRMSU President Dr. Maria Rio A. Naguit, who warmly welcomed the delegation and generously shared her institution’s experiences and sincere thanks are also conveyed to Vice President for Research, Development and Extension Dr. Rizza Bagalanon, Extension Director Ms. Bobmil C. Flores, Research Director Dr. John Wayne V. Jacinto, and to the entire JRMSU team for their openness and the valuable insights shared.

Representing ZPPSU on this learning journey were ZPPSU Extension Director Ms. Cellyn Aron-Verallo, Vice President for Resource Generation and Research Office Dr. Dorothy Joy D. Tan, College of Engineering and Technology Extension Coordinator Mr. Ismael I. Musa, and its Research Coordinator Engr. Ma. Ruthie S. Borja.
