The honor to officially host the WorldSkills Philippines Zamboanga 2027 and a Medallion for Excellence highlighted Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University’s (ZPPSU) participation in the three-day WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026, held at Clark, Pampanga from September 8 to 10, this year.

Paving the way for a brighter Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU) particularly for its School of Business Administration (SBA), an official ground breaking ceremony for the construction of approximately PHP20-million (Phase 1) Business Administration Laboratory Building, led by Hon. Mayor Khymer Adan T. Olaso, was held at the SBA grounds, August 4, this year.

Advancing research excellence, educational innovation, and internationalization, the university recently participated in the 5th International Research and Education Conference 2026 with a series of benchmarking engagements, organized by the Association of Filipino Teachers and Educators in America (AFTEA), in partnership with the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines, held at the City University of New York (CUNY)–LaGuardia and key destinations across United States from June 26 to July 5, this year.

In line with its commitment to advancing ethical, responsible, and high-quality research, the university, through its Research Ethics Committee (REC), successfully conducted a 3-Day Basic Research Ethics Training Workshop, held at Seafoods Restaurant, in this city from July 21 to 23, this year.

University officials have collaborated with higher education leaders, administrators, policymakers, faculty members, researchers, extension practitioners, and development partners in the 2026 PASUC Annual Convention and General Assembly at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Pasay City from July 13 to 15, this year.

Under the leadership of University President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral, the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU) welcomed a courtesy visit from representatives of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) following the June 28, this year landing of two military helicopters within the University campus. The visit highlighted the shared commitment of both institutions to transparency, accountability, and strengthened inter-agency coordination.

112 Doctorate and Master’s graduates across various fields, and 128 PEC Program completers of Batch 2026 were honored during the 108th Commencement Exercises of the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University, celebrating perseverance, pride and purpose, held at the Palacio Del Sur on May 19, this year.

Another milestone and history for the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University as it officially broke ground on its very first student dormitory, led by the Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, on March 27.
As the first of its kind among States, Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and even private campuses nationwide, this six-storey dormitory — equipped with modern facilities and well-designed spaces — can offer a comfortable home for up to 600 of its total student population.
