A convention dubbed, “Know Your SSS” was held to urge job order employees, contract-of-service, and visiting lecturers of Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University to be members of the Social Security System insurance program, held at the College of Maritime Education today, April 11.
To note, the Social Security System (SSS) provides financial protection to workers in private, professional, and informal sectors against death, disability, sicknesses, maternity, and old age.
Meanwhile, the ZPPSU through the Vice President for Administration and Finance Ms. Josephine Sulasula, conformed to share the university’s part to employees’ contribution to the SSS.
The Memorandum of Agreement between the two agencies is still yet to be arranged.
The orientation proper is led by SSS personnel — CEO II, Ms. Cecile Cadavedo, Senior Analyst Mr. Luis S. Tuvera Jr., Junior Analyst Mr. Richard S. Culajara, MSR Mr. Moh. Ar-rafih R. Jamalul, and Senior Clerk Ms. Nyla Jean P. Galicia.
The event is facilitated by the ZPPSU-Human Resource Management Unit headed by Ms. Liza Santos and staff.
Also present during the event were VPSAS Dr. Cyrus Cadavedo, CAO for Administration Ms. Carina M. Abidin, SAO for Finance Ms. Maria Christina G. Vergara, along with other officials and staff of the university.
