ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA POLYTECHNIC STATE UNIVERSITY (PIO) โ Paving the way for a brighter, Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU) particularly for its School of Business Administration (SBA), an official ground breaking ceremony for the construction of approximately PHP20-million (Phase 1) Business Administration Laboratory Building, led by Hon. Mayor Khymer Adan T. Olaso, was held at the SBA grounds, August 4, this year.
The SBA with nearly 1,000 students remains without a permanent academic facility, currently occupying a temporary building.
“Additional facilities are urgently needed to meet the growing demands of the university”, stressed University President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral.
He emphasized that education deserves greater priority, thus greater government investment.
“This is for our students. This is for the future of our youth.” Dr. Cabral said.
Expressing gratitude to the City Mayor and the Local Government Unit (LGU) for prioritizing this four-storey project, Dr. Cabral emphasized that the SBA Laboratory Building would significantly address the university’s classroom and laboratory shortages while providing modern learning space and practical training for students in the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management programs.
In response, Mayor Olaso reaffirmed the City Government’s commitment as a steadfast partner of the university for innovation, quality education and student services.
“Rest assured that the local government under my leadership is always here to support you,” Mayor Olaso underscored.
The City Mayor also highlighted plans for the university’s expansion and infrastructure developments, emphasizing that the continued collaboration between ZPPSU and the LGU would help create better opportunities for students while contributing to the long-term progress of Zamboanga City.
Meanwhile, Vice President for Administration and Finance Prof. Josephine Sulasula accentuated the significance of the project, describing it as more than just the construction of a new facility.
“Today’s groundbreaking is more than the start of a construction project โ it is the start of new opportunities for our students and future generations of business leaders,” Vice President for Administration and Finance Prof. Josephine Sulasula affirmed.
