ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA POLYTECHNIC STATE UNIVERSITY – The annual observance of the National Arts Month has successfully kicked off by the university at the gymnasium today, February 02.

Student artists and faculty members performed a variety show, exhibiting their passion for the traditional Filipino dances and creativity to promote the vibrant tapestries that weave together the cultures, traditions, and stories of the Philippines.

“Arts Month paints the picture of who we are as Filipinos, it is a picture of our culture and pride. If we forget our heritage and culture, we will lose our collective identity of who we are as Filipinos,” Vice President for Student Affairs and Services Dr. Cyrus Pil Cadavedo affirmed during his message to the students.
The Office of the Culture and Arts led by Ms. Ma. Flor Jessamine Andajao, prepared a series of activities and competitions for the students.

“These activities are carefully designed not only to showcase skills, but to provide spaces where students can learn, collaborate, and grow as artists and as individuals,” Dr. Guillermo emphasized.
Dr. Guillermo is also hopeful that as the university celebrates the Ani ng Sining, may this cultivate an environment where creativity thrives, where truth is expressed with integrity, and where courage is nurtured through meaningful student engagement.

“May this celebration inspire us all to value the arts as a vital force in education and in nation-building,” he added.

The university remained committed to molding and supporting the student-artists, as a means to preserve the arts and culture of the country, the Philippines. (JRA/ABC/Photos By: JBM/Public Information Office)
