PhilHealth promotes YAKAP program in ZPPSU

ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA POLYTECHNIC STATE UNIVERSITY (PIO) — Prioritizing the health and wellness of its employees, the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU), through its Medical and Dental Services Unit, reaffirmed its commitment by holding a PhilHealth YAKAP Caravan Orientation and Registration Forum at the university gymnasium today, October 16.

The event aimed to raise awareness of employees’ rights and to guide them on how to access the health benefits and services offered under the mentioned program, marking the one-week birthday celebration of ZPPSU President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral.

“Health is wealth! Hindi lang ngayon, hindi lang bukas pero para sa mas matagal na buhay because we have our own families that we need to take care of, our university, and our obligation to our community, as we are working in a government service,Vice President for Administration and Finance Ms. Josephine L. Sulasula said in her opening message.

Serving as the Resource Speaker of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Mr. Erlisli A. Luceñada, provided an in-depth overview of the YAKAP Program, its comprehensive benefits, and its positive impact on its beneficiaries.

The YAKAP program, which stands for Yaman ng Kalusugan Program, aims to ensure that health services are inclusive, accessible, and compassionate — making certain that no Filipino is left behind.

Further, West Metro Medical Center and Medisense Laboratory Center Inc, both accredited PhilHealth YAKAP institutions, were present to provide additional insights and support, reinforcing the collaborative efforts to ensure that healthcare reaches the community.

Through this event, ZPPSU continues to uphold a culture of wellness and proactive healthcare, empowering its employees to make informed choices for their well-being.

It further reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to build a health-conscious academic community that values not only education but also the well-being of every member. (Written By: Ms. Rio L. Landingin/JRA/ABC/Photos By: JBM/Public Information Office)
