ZAMBOANGA PENNINSULA POLYTECHNIC STATE UNIVERSITY (PIO) — To officially welcome the first year students and transferees of the university, a weeklong orientation-seminar is being held at the gymnasium from September 22 to 26, this year.
Representing the Office of the Student Affairs and Services, Dean Dr. Rommel G. Guillermo welcomed the students, as they begin a meaningful chapter in their academic and personal journey.


“The main purpose of this seminar is to facilitate a smooth transition among first-year students and transferees by familiarizing them with the university campus, culture, academic resources, and support system especially the different student affairs and services programs as mandated by CMO 9, series of 2013,” Dr. Guillermo said in an interview.
Further, he emphasized that all students are government scholars — recipients of the Unified Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFast) grants. “

“This is both a blessing and responsibility. Therefore, you are called to use this opportunity wisely, study diligently, strive for excellence. and live with integrity,” he added.
He encourage the students to learn, engage, aspire, and develop, as they begin their meaningful chapter in the academe.
The orientation-seminar is participated by all colleges together with the faculty members and administrative staff.


Also in facilitation is the head of the Guidance Counselling and Testing Office Ms. Janet Pangilinan and staff. Student-centered offices have also presented their offered services in the university.
