Dr. Cabral has significantly stressed that the clearer mandate of the state university is to provide technology-relevant, inclusive, and future ready education that will empower learners and uplift communities.

“Guided by this mandate, we continue to anchor our efforts on the four foundational pillars of instruction, research, extension and income generation ensuring that every initiative we undertake contributes meaningfully to national development and global competitiveness,” the President said.

Per the report, in the area of instruction, the university fortified its academic programs to remain responsive to the demands of the industry 4.0 and beyond. This will also ensure that graduates are not only employable, but are also innovative, ethical, and globally competitive.

The university’s research initiatives have likewise gained momentum, with increased faculty and student engagement in applied and interdisciplinary studies, where strengthened partnerships with industry and government agencies have been enabled to translate research outputs into practical solutions, reinforcing our role as a knowledge generator and problem-solver in the region.

In terms of Income Generation, the university has continued to explore sustainable and innovative strategies to support its operations and development goals. These efforts not only supplement our resources but also provide experiential learning opportunities for our students and stakeholders.

Lastly, the ZPPSU’s commitment to extension remains steadfast, as this extends the university’s expertise and services to communities across the Zamboanga Peninsula. These extension programs embody its belief that education must go beyond the classroom and serve as a catalyst for inclusive growth and social transformation.
