SALAMAT SA SERBISYO SPES BABIES A total of 116 officially enrolled students have recently received their salaries of their 20-day rendered services in the respective offices of the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University. 60% of the pay-out was from the ZPPSU and 40% from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), which was claimed via Palawan Express. To note, the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) aims to provide employment opportunities and help students from low-income families to finance their education while gaining work experience. Further, this is initiated by the DOLE. The pay-out was duly facilitated by the ZPPSU-Career Services and Public Employment Service Office headed by Prof. Anna Maria Gomez, with the full support of the ZPPSU administration led by President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral. The university is extending its utmost gratitude to the student beneficiaries for their assistance in helping the university to provide efficient and steadfast services to their co-students. JRMSU’s Historic Turnover Ceremony of Transformative Leadership – Dr. Cabral to Dr. Naguit Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU) made history with a remarkable turnover ceremony of the presidency, which was recently held at Manuel Resort in Piñan, Zamboanga Del Norte recently. Vice President for Academic Affairs Jay D. Telen captivated the audience, opening the event with eloquent remarks and sharing firsthand insights into Dr. Cabral’s leadership style. Further, his reflections set the stage for a day focused on guidance and mentorship. Dr. Nelson P. Cabral, the outgoing JRMSU OIC-President and President of Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU), delivered profound perspectives, emphasizing the pivotal roles of collaboration and unity in propelling the University towards continued progress. The highlight of the ceremony was the formal turnover ceremony conducted by Dr. Cabral, symbolizing the passing of the torch and ushering in a new era for the university. Dr. Maria Rio Abdon Naguit, JRMSU’s 3rd and new president, expressed gratitude and recognized Dr. Cabral’s invaluable contributions. She underscored the community’s reliance on God’s love as they collectively navigated the path forward. In closing, Vice President for Finance, Atty. Nizza Lesterio paid tribute to Dr. Nelson P. Cabral, acknowledging his unwavering dedication. Atty. Lesterio has also extended congratulations to Dr. Naguit and offers heartfelt wishes for success in her leadership role. SHARING IS GIVING Before leaping to the year 2024, Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University – Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ZPPSU-DRRMO) brought smiles and simple gifts to over 100 indigent elementary pupils of Barangay Capisan, Zamboanga City this month. The gifts were heartedly donations from the ZPPSU community through the city-wide project dubbed #OperationShoeBox Christmas Edition. Happiness and smiles of the children are indeed incomparable! The Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Council of Barangay Capisan expressed utmost gratitude The team was headed by Dr. Michael Cabiles, with its marshals with immense coordination with former Capisan SK Chairperson Hon. NMSCST Celebrates Excellence at the Pasundayag Awards Night 2023 The Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (NMSCST) held its much-anticipated Pasundayag Awards Night 2023 at the historic Old Gymnasium in Tangub City. Under the distinguished presence of NMSCST OIC-President and ZPPSU President, Dr. Nelson P. Cabral, the event unfolded as a captivating celebration of academic brilliance and dedicated service. Dr. Cabral sets the tone for the evening with a compelling welcome address, underscoring the university’s academic progress and showcasing pivotal programs contributing to its regional educational prominence. The pinnacle of the event was the prestigious awarding ceremony, featuring diverse categories honoring exceptional contributions and achievements within the university community; From Cash Incentives to Plaques, VPAA Awards, HRMO Awards, and Special Recognitions, individuals and units were acknowledged for their outstanding commitment to advancing the university’s educational mission. The recipients of these accolades included esteemed members of the university community, including Deans and Faculty, Directors and Heads of Units, as well as Personnel and Staff. Each recipient was recognized not only for their individual accomplishments but also for their collective efforts in fostering an environment of academic excellence and institutional advancement. The Pasundayag Awards Night 2023 served as a significant moment for reflection on the accomplishments of the past year, inspiring a collective commitment to sustained excellence in the years ahead.

Indeed, wishes have materialized, and plans for the university’s advancement are set in motion. Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU) has attained remarkable success, with the university’s proposed budget for the National Expenditure Program 2024 receiving due approval from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM). ZPPSU secures the 4th position in the highest budget allocation for 2024, as adjusted and confirmed by Congress. All endeavors of the ZPPSU Management are wholeheartedly devoted to our cherished students and the entire community. ZPPSU extends profound gratitude to DBM-9 Regional Director Mark Louie Martin; Senators Edgardo Angara; Loren Legarda; Imee Marcos; and other senators for endorsing our proposed budget and projects for national deliberation.
