ZPPSU COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM Students from the Professional Education Certificate (PEC) – Batch 38 of the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University conducted a community outreach program among 250 enrolled indigent pupils of Datu Panguluhan Elementary School in Barangay La Paz Zamboanga City recently. The volunteers, headed by Professor Ana Maria Gomez, prepared a series of activities aiming to bring smiles and positive impacts to the students, especially this yuletide season, such as Christmas-theme Shoe Box Giveaways, Food Distribution, Play Games, and Actual Demo-teaching. The event was fully partnered by the 6th Air Reserve Center headed by Commanding Officer LTC Glenn P. Eugenio (GSC), who provided the transportation of the volunteers. Mayor Jalosjos Unveils Vision for Dapitan City’s Future in SOCA 2023 In a gathering attended by the President of Zamboanga Peninsula State University (ZPPSU) as well as the OIC-President of Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU) Dr. Nelson P. Cabral, along with officials from both institutions, the stage was set for the eagerly anticipated State of the City Address (SOCA) 2023, held at the Dapitan City Government Center, on Dec. 01, this year. Prior to the main event, a courtesy visit to the Mayor’s Office set the tone for collaborative efforts between JRMSU and the local government. This visit, marked by the presence of core officials from ZPPSU and JRMSU, showcased the commitment to fostering partnerships that contribute to the city’s development. Mayor Seth Frederick “Bullet” P. Jalosjos seized the spotlight in the evening, stepping into the limelight to convey a crucial message about the city’s development, obstacles, and forthcoming initiatives. ZPPSU’s 4th Quarter Board Meeting at CHED Central Office In a recent assembly, the 4th Quarter Regular Board Meeting of Zamboanga Peninsula State University (ZPPSU) took place at the CHED Central Office in Quezon City, drawing a distinguished gathering that included prominent figures such as University President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral and Assistant Solicitor General Hon. Justice James Cundangan. Playing a crucial role, the Board of Regents featured notable luminaries like former Cong. Celso Lobregat, Hon. Dr. Mario Ariola, Hon. Victor Liozo, Hon. Dr. Rodel Agbulos, and Hon. Jelord R. Pugot. The assembly were joined by key university officials, including Prof. Josephine L. ZPPSU Malangas Marks Milestone with Building Inauguration and Groundbreaking Ceremony. In a historic stride towards progress and academic distinction, Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University – Ana M. Baquial Campus recently celebrated the triumphant inauguration and handover of its highly awaited new building, coupled with the commencement of a groundbreaking ceremony for 10 additional classrooms on December 7, 2023, in Brgy. Mabini, Malangas Zamboanga Sibugay. This significant event, a culmination of years of meticulous planning, unwavering dedication, and collaborative effort, not only symbolizes the completion of a physical structure but heralds the dawn of a new era for our esteemed institution. Scholar grantees of the Commission on Higher Education – Tulong Dunong Program (CHED-TDP) received 7,500 pesos each at the ZPPSU earlier today. A total of 371 scholars from the ZPPSU-Main Campus and 104 scholars from the Vitali Extension Unit. The University – Scholarship Office, headed by Prof. Lilia P. All scholar grantees of Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University under Tulong Dunong Program – Tertiary Education Subsidy (TDP-TES) of the Commission on Higher Education – Unifast Region IX convened for a general orientation at the ZPPSU Gymnasium recently. Among the significant discussions were the reconstituted policies and guidelines of TDP-TES grantees, processes, and requirements in releasing stipend allowance, as well as the scholarship documents, monitoring, and evaluation. The resource speakers were CHED-Unifast representative Ms. Watchel Basilio, ZPPSU Accountant Ms. Elena A. Galvez and ZPPSU Scholarship and Financial Assistance Director Ms. Lilia P. Remoto.
