ZPPSU COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM

ZPPSU COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM Students from the Professional Education Certificate (PEC) – Batch 38 of the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University conducted a community outreach program among 250 enrolled indigent pupils of Datu Panguluhan Elementary School in Barangay La Paz Zamboanga City recently. The volunteers, headed by Professor Ana Maria Gomez, prepared a series of activities aiming to bring smiles and positive impacts to the students, especially this yuletide season, such as Christmas-theme Shoe Box Giveaways, Food Distribution, Play Games, and Actual Demo-teaching. The event was fully partnered by the 6th Air Reserve Center headed by Commanding Officer LTC Glenn P. Eugenio (GSC), who provided the transportation of the volunteers. Cabral, along with officials from both institutions, the stage was set for the eagerly anticipated State of the City Address (SOCA) 2023, held at the Dapitan City Government Center, on Dec. 01, this year. Prior to the main event, a courtesy visit to the Mayor’s Office set the tone for collaborative efforts between JRMSU and the local government. This visit, marked by the presence of core officials from ZPPSU and JRMSU, showcased the commitment to fostering partnerships that contribute to the city’s development. Mayor Seth Frederick “Bullet” P. Scholar grantees of the Commission on Higher Education – Tulong Dunong Program (CHED-TDP) received 7,500 pesos each at the ZPPSU earlier today. A total of 371 scholars from the ZPPSU-Main Campus and 104 scholars from the Vitali Extension Unit. The University – Scholarship Office, headed by Prof. Lilia P. All scholar grantees of Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University under Tulong Dunong Program – Tertiary Education Subsidy (TDP-TES) of the Commission on Higher Education – Unifast Region IX convened for a general orientation at the ZPPSU Gymnasium recently. Among the significant discussions were the reconstituted policies and guidelines of TDP-TES grantees, processes, and requirements in releasing stipend allowance, as well as the scholarship documents, monitoring, and evaluation. The resource speakers were CHED-Unifast representative Ms. Watchel Basilio, ZPPSU Accountant Ms. Elena A. Galvez and ZPPSU Scholarship and Financial Assistance Director Ms. Lilia P. Remoto.
