SALAMAT SA SERBISYO SPES BABIES A total of 116 officially enrolled students have recently received their salaries of their 20-day rendered services in the respective offices of the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University. 60% of the pay-out was from the ZPPSU and 40% from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), which was claimed via Palawan Express. To note, the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) aims to provide employment opportunities and help students from low-income families to finance their education while gaining work experience. Further, this is initiated by the DOLE. The pay-out was duly facilitated by the ZPPSU-Career Services and Public Employment Service Office headed by Prof. Anna Maria Gomez, with the full support of the ZPPSU administration led by President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral. The university is extending its utmost gratitude to the student beneficiaries for their assistance in helping the university to provide efficient and steadfast services to their co-students. JRMSU’s Historic Turnover Ceremony of Transformative Leadership – Dr. Cabral to Dr. Naguit Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU) made history with a remarkable turnover ceremony of the presidency, which was recently held at Manuel Resort in Piñan, Zamboanga Del Norte recently. Vice President for Academic Affairs Jay D. Telen captivated the audience, opening the event with eloquent remarks and sharing firsthand insights into Dr. Cabral’s leadership style. Further, his reflections set the stage for a day focused on guidance and mentorship. Dr. Nelson P. Cabral, the outgoing JRMSU OIC-President and President of Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU), delivered profound perspectives, emphasizing the pivotal roles of collaboration and unity in propelling the University towards continued progress. The highlight of the ceremony was the formal turnover ceremony conducted by Dr. Cabral, symbolizing the passing of the torch and ushering in a new era for the university. Dr. Maria Rio Abdon Naguit, JRMSU’s 3rd and new president, expressed gratitude and recognized Dr. Cabral’s invaluable contributions. She underscored the community’s reliance on God’s love as they collectively navigated the path forward. In closing, Vice President for Finance, Atty. Nizza Lesterio paid tribute to Dr. Nelson P. Cabral, acknowledging his unwavering dedication. Atty. Lesterio has also extended congratulations to Dr. Naguit and offers heartfelt wishes for success in her leadership role. The turnover ceremony, beyond marking a shift in leadership, served as a reflective and inspirational moment for the JRMSU community as they ventured into a new chapter in their academic journey.

SHARING IS GIVING Before leaping to the year 2024, Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University – Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ZPPSU-DRRMO) brought smiles and simple gifts to over 100 indigent elementary pupils of Barangay Capisan, Zamboanga City this month. The gifts were heartedly donations from the ZPPSU community through the city-wide project dubbed #OperationShoeBox Christmas Edition. Happiness and smiles of the children are indeed incomparable! The Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Council of Barangay Capisan expressed utmost gratitude The team was headed by Dr. Michael Cabiles, with its marshals with immense coordination with former Capisan SK Chairperson Hon.
