ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA POLYTECHNIC STATE UNIVERSITY (PIO) — On behalf of the university community, President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral has officially accepted the turn-over of the 400-meter rubberized track oval facility with mini-grandstand from 3VC Construction Incorporated today, October 17.
Dr. Cabral expressed deep humility and gratitude as this milestone stands as proof of the university and construction company’s shared vision of promoting holistic education through the integration of sports wellness and academic excellence.

“The completion of these modern facilities reflects not only engineering expertise but also the commitment to nurturing the physical and mental well-being of our students. Lahat ng ginagawa namin ay para sa inyo,” Dr. Cabral said.
To note, the 86-million track oval facility is funded by former Senator and now the Department of Education Secretary Hon. Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara Jr., as this aims to serve as a venue for recreational activities and sports practices for the student-athletes.
“This project represents a new era of opportunities for training, competitions and community engagement,” Dr. Cabral added.

He is hopeful that this project will serve as an enduring symbol of collaboration between private and the academic sector, as well as remind the student-athletes to concentrate on their studies as they are government scholars.
“We are giving what is due to all of you. The only thing you will do is to study well. This is the only way we can assist you because you are already government scholars, so you have no reasons at all that you cannot finish your studies,” he emphasized.
Further, the President commended the 3VC Construction headed by Engr. Ladislao Darunday for their professionalism, dedication, and partnership to realizing this endeavor.

Through these achievements and projects, our university continues to transform, creating a better learning environment for students, faculty, and the entire academic community.
“Together, let us continue building infrastructure that empowers, inspires and uplifts generation of learners and leaders,” Dr. Cabral exclaimed.

Present during the event were all Vice Presidents, Representative of District I Congresswoman Hon. Kat Chua, Zamboanga City Officials, 3VC staff, faculty members, administrative personnel, and students.
