ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA POLYTECHNIC STATE UNIVERSITY – With unity and shared commitment to excellence, the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University–Extension Program Delivery Unit (ZPPSU-EPDU), convened for a General Assembly to unveil and celebrate the 2025 university’s accomplishments, held at the Siay Gymnasium on March 6, this year.

“The strength of our institution lies not only in our programs and facilities, but in the unity of its people,” University President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral shared.
The Vice Presidents and EPDU Dean Dr. Kier Dela Calzada took the stage, each delivering a transparent and detailed report on the 2025 milestones defining their offices. Their presentations centered on the university’s core pillars — Academic Affairs, Administration and Finance, Research Development and Extension, Student Affairs and Services, and the External Program Delivery Unit, reflecting its continued efforts to strengthening institutional performance.

“These accomplishments are not the work of one person alone,” Dr. Kier P. Dela Calzada expressed.

“They are the result of the dedication, cooperation, and commitment of our administrators, faculty members, and staff, who continue to go beyond their duties to serve our students and communities,” he added.
Further, one segment of the program was the discussion of key institutional topics, including university identity, professional standards and accountability, attendance policies, research incentives and extension services, and compensation processing for employees, keeping the personnel well-informed while fostering a respectful and productive university community.

“As we move forward, let us recommit ourselves to upholding university policies that safeguard fairness, accountability, and professionalism in our workplace,” Dr. Cabral underscored.
Beyond milestones, Dr. Cabral reminded everyone that true excellence is built on ‘ABC’. He underscored that Attitude, Behavior, and Character as the fundamental values that serve as the primary drivers behind institutional wins; and that these values must be embodied for driving the university’s vision.

“Together, with clarity of purpose and steadfast commitment, we continue building a university that exemplifies excellence, inclusivity, and service to our nation,” he exclaimed.

The assembly, hosted by the Office of the Planning and Programming, supported Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions — institutionalizing inclusive governance and reaffirming the university’s commitment to building a transparent, responsible and strong university.
