To ensure that the government pursues gender equality and a safe working place for all identified genders, Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University – Gender and Development (ZPPSU-GAD) is conducting the five-day Gender Sensitivity Training among employees from June 24 to 28, 2024.
The participants were jobholders from the administration, faculty staff from different colleges, visiting lecturers, offices’ job orders, and utility personnel.
On the first day, the speaker and a long-time GAD advocate Dr. Ana Maria Gomez, led the talk on deeper understanding of the roles of men and women as well as to increase the level of awareness on GAD and to address gender-related issues in societies.
Further, Dr. Gomez tackled the different ‘confidence persona’ of every person.
“Don’t be afraid to do works of men and women. Everyone is equal and included, and everybody has the right of expression and to speak up,” she affirmed.
The week-long GAD training is dubbed, “Advancing Gender Equality and Social Inclusive Comprehensive Gender Sensitivity Training for ZPPSU Employees.”
The week with the ZPPSU-GAD coordinators is expected to impart GAD learning and literacies to the active participants assigned per batch, given the challenges with reflections that could apply to the actual job environment.
“For us to have the change of perception in gender quality, let’s appreciate than insult them,” Dr. Gomez exclaimed.
