ZPPSU futures thinking unveils visionary roadmap for University long-term operations

To achieve the transformative goals of the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University in the coming years, a three-day event, dubbed the Futures Thinking and Strategic Foresight Conference, was recently held at the Southern Heights Recreational Park in La Paz. The conference aimed to convey the role of futures thinking and strategic foresight in the university’s operations, build capacity for outside-the-box, long-term planning, and anticipatory policy-making, generate initiatives and insights into the dynamics of future developments in the university, and pitch and cascade the crafted futures thinking initiatives to the 5-year development plan of the university. The first two days were dedicated to the meticulous crafting and presentation of strategic initiatives, contributing to a comprehensive roadmap that laid the foundation for the university’s future endeavors. Participants from various university offices were convened during the conference, fostering collaboration among decision-makers from the Office of the President and Offices of the Vice Presidents, including the Administration and Finance, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and Services and Research Development and Extension. Beyond intellectual pursuits, the conference seamlessly blended recreation into its schedule. Activities such as invigorating Zumba sessions and a lively fellowship night added a vibrant touch to the academic proceedings, fostering a holistic and collaborative environment. The workshop, spearheaded by ZPPSU-VPAF Prof. Josephine L. Sulasula, along with the dynamic steering committee, including Engr. Edabel Jane Falcasantos, Arch. Fatima Shallemar Pattaalam, Engr. Emrayda Nagdar; Ms. Maura Elise Valesco, Anthony B. Colico, and Keith Carlou Jaramilla. Moreover, ZPPSU President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral graced the workshop, along with the oversight committee led by VPAF Prof. Josephine L. Sulasula, VPAA Dr. Roy L. Valesco, VPRE Dr. Bonnie A. Andabon, and VPSAS Dr. Ma. Cristina Wee, unit directors/heads, college deans, and other key university officials who actively participated in the workshop. CAREER COACHING FOR BS-INFO TECH

All graduating students of Bachelor of Information Technology (BSIT) underwent a two-day career coaching with ZPPSU – Career Services and Public Employment Service Office (CSPESO) Director Prof. Anna Maria Gomez at the CICS Computer Laboratory recently. The event helps the students build their skills and capabilities to improve their job-searching skills and how they would impress hiring managers. Dr. Gomez has also shared labor market information and informed of the available pre-employment services for local applicants. Furthermore, ZPPSU – Office of the Alumni Affairs Director Dr. Clarita Cultura has also presented the office’s multiple programs and bannered the active participation of alumni at the university. #OneZPPSU

The council with the ZPPSU Sports Director Prof. Dexter T. Paclibar, as the adviser, is committed to making the needs and benefits of the student-athletes a priority as they truly dedicate themselves to representing the ZPPSU in various sports contest. ZPPSU Paves the Way for Future Excellence

An insightful pre-workshop in preparation for the upcoming three-day Futures Thinking and Strategic Foresight Conference was held at the ZPPSU Gymnasium today, January 22. The conference is scheduled from January 24 to 26 at the Southern Heights Recreational Park. Guided by ZPPSU Vice President for Administration and Finance, Prof. Josephine Sulasula, and the esteemed steering committee, which includes ZPPSU Planning and Programming Director Engr. Edabel Jane Falcasantos, Arch. Fatima Shallemar Pattaalam, Engr. Emrayda Nagdar and Ms. Maura Elise Valesco, the event aimed at creating a progressive experience. VP Sulasula also emphasized the workshop’s objectives, highlighting its crucial role in conveying the importance of future thinking and strategic foresight in the university’s operations. The focus was on fostering outside-the-box thinking, long-term planning, and anticipatory policy-making. Additionally, the workshop aimed to ignite initiatives and insights into future developments, seamlessly integrating these forward-thinking initiatives into the university’s five-year development plan. HOME OF STUDENT-ATHLETES IN ZAMBOANGA CITY

Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University – Sports Development Office, headed by Prof. Dexter T. Paclibar spearheaded a student-athlete assembly intending to amplify the consortium and its significance to the university. The first-ever election, which led to organizing the University Varsity Council, was held among the thriving student-athletes who represent the ZPPSU in different competitions, both local and national. ZPPSU functionaries that cater to student services underscored their benevolence in providing the needs and benefits of the student-athletes, including Vice President for Student Affairs and Service Dr. Ma. Christina Wee, Scholarship Office led by Prof. Lilia P. Remoto, Dean OSAS Prof. Rommel Guillermo, among others. Together with the dedicated athletes were respective prime coaching staff of the different defined sports. “With discipline, unity, and hard work, we will slay in all competitions,” ZPPSU – Sports Director Paclibar exclaimed. #OneZPPSU

Core officials of the J.H. Cerilles State College from Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur Province, visited some of the defined working offices of the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University for the benchmarking rite today, January 17. JHCSC has been very notable in the Zamboanga Peninsula in catering free tertiary education and producing professionals. The State College is hopeful to apply the shared ‘best norms ‘of the ZPPSU for its betterment and with acceptable working behaviors.
