Another milestone and history for the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University as it officially broke ground on its very first student dormitory, led by the Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, on March 27.
As the first of its kind among States, Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and even private campuses nationwide, this six-storey dormitory — equipped with modern facilities and well-designed spaces — can offer a comfortable home for up to 600 of its total student population.

Following the immense preparation of the university for the upcoming WorldSkills Western Mindanao 2026, students from the different colleges, senior high school, and extension campuses in the region convened for the Inter-University Worlds Skills Olympics as the major highlight of the ZPPSU 121st Founding Anniversary held at the main campus, this month.

As the National Women’s Month 2026 is about to conclude, the Gender and Development Office of the university have recognized the ‘Babaylans’ for their exemplary contributions to women empowerment and leadership, held at the gymnasium last March 26, this year.

Faculty member and student-officers of the National Service Training Program of the university celebrated its 121st Founding Anniversary and 5th University-hood Anniversary with the joyful local children of the Fishermen’s Village in Barangay Manicahan, Zamboanga City, this week.

President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral has proudly accentuated the milestone had been through by the university and its efforts have undertaken for years to realize strengthened technology-driven programs and as a solid academic institution in the region, during the State University Address held at the gymnasium on March 26.

The Project Tanim of Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU) represents the university’s commitment to environmental sustainability, while celebrating its 121st foundation anniversary and 5th anniversary as university, anchored on the theme: “121 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑷𝒐𝒍𝒚𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒏𝒊𝒄 𝑬𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: 𝑰𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒚, 𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑮𝒍𝒐𝒃𝒂𝒍 𝑬𝒙𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆”.

President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral proudly received a recognition as one of the most outstanding Sioconians, held at Julian Soriano Memorial Sports Complex, Poblacion, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte on March 10, this year.

With unity and shared commitment to excellence, the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University–Extension Program Delivery Unit (ZPPSU-EPDU), convened for a General Assembly to unveil and celebrate the 2025 university’s accomplishments, held at the Siay Gymnasium on March 6, this year.

Dr. Nelson P. Cabral advised all employees to recommit and abide by the university policies to ensure transparency, efficiency, and mutual respect during the General Assembly in a hotel yesterday, March 04.

On behalf of the university, President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral honored the unwavering commitment of the retirees who helped shape the strong foundation of the university and extended his congratulations to the PRAISE awardees who worked with an exemplary performance in the past fiscal year, held in a hotel during the ZPPSU General Assembly on March 04, this year.
