The university has emphasized its appreciation and utmost congratulations to the student-athletes and performers, who clinched triumphs during the Dia De Zamboanga Sports Competition, this year.
ZPPSU Sports Director Dr. Dexter T. Paclibar announced the winning teams during the flag ceremony this week.


The ZPPSU-Arnis Team bagged a total of four gold and one silver medal, coached by Ms. Zcharina Tinaytina.
The Sepak Takraw team emerged as champions with distinct individual awards for the players and several medals, with head coach Mr. Mark Bryan Carbonera.
The ZPPSU Womenโs Volleyball Team was once again hailed as the overall champion of the Dia De Zamboanga Volleyball Tournament with the Dr. Sammy Paringit Jr. and Ms. Charlotte Mendoza leading the charge.
Further, the Softball Women’s Team of the university with Olaf Ramos and Mr. Wilbour Datolio, as the head coach, was recognized as the silver medalist of the city tournament after giving a breathtaking game during the championship match.

The ZPPSU Athletics Team is the overall champion and received several individual awards in various categories with a total of 27 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze medals led by the esteemed coaches Ms. Jessa Andajao, Ms. Mary Ann Salazar, and Mr. Joseph Magsucang.
Meanwhile, performers from the College of Physical Education and Sports made history after being named as the first-ever champion of the Flash Mob Competition during the Dia De Zamboanga this year.
The ZPPSU Lions Pep Squad has also made the university roar with pride by securing 4th Runner-Up in the prestigious Dia De Zamboanga Cheerdance Competition Open Category.

On the other hand, outside the city, the ZPPSU Menโs Volleyball Team emerged as champions in the Araw ng Sibugay Volleyball Tournament this year with Mr. Kerwin Francisco and Dr. Dexter T. Paclibar as the coaching staff.
The university has celebrated the victories of the students and deeply expressed gratitude for representing the ZPPSU with pride and roaring spirit as the lions.
