ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA POLYTECHNIC STATE UNIVERSITY (PIO) — As one of the highlights of the week-long life celebration of ZPPSU President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral, the university, joined the Nationwide Simultaneous Pagbabago: A Million Learners and Trees Campaign as part of the greening program under the Office of the Vice President, held at the Climaco Freedom Park, Abong-abong Pasonanca, in this city today.

Over three thousand (3,000) trees and fruit-bearing seedlings were planted at the site, which was personally led by the Vice President of the Philippines Hon. Sara Z. Duterte. Moreover, the Vice President selected the city for the planting of the OVP’s one millionth tree for the “Pagbabago Campaign.”

The event was attended by City Mayor Khymer Olaso and City Vice Mayor Hon. Maria Isabelle Climaco Salazar, together with the other city officials, national government agencies, barangay officials, and academe.

The participation of the ZPPSU is in line with its Project TANIM’s (Tree Action for Neutralizing and Improving the Microclimate) goals and programs headed by Vice President for Administration and Finance Ms. Josephine L. Sulasula.

ZPPSU Vice Presidents, Dean of Colleges, Faculties, Directors, Head of Offices and Admin Staff were also at the event. (ABC/JRA/Photos: JBM/Public Information Office)
