ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA POLYTECHNIC STATE UNIVERSITY (PIO) — As part of the university’s pursuit of global standards in higher education, Nanyang Polytechnic in Singapore shared their competitive practices during the conduct of the academic benchmarking of Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU) held this month of September 2025.
The team was given the opportunity to have an academic tour of the NYP’s School of Engineering Centres of Excellence and the School of Information Technology Centre for IT Innovation, where they were introduced to state-of-the-art facilities, advanced equipment, innovative academic programs, and globally recognized research practices in engineering and information technology.


Through engagements with globally renowned institutions such as NYP, ZPPSU reaffirms its commitment to becoming a world-class university by producing globally competent graduates and research innovations, while fostering excellence for the benefit of its students, faculty, and the wider academic community.
The ZPPSU delegation, led by University President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral, was warmly welcomed by Mr. Chai Kuek Heng, Director of the Centre for Student Support and International Relations, together with other NYP officials.
Meanwhile, the ZPPSU is very privileged to forge an international academic alliance with the NTU.
“We look forward to future collaboration and future partnership,” ZPPSU Vice President for Administration and Finance Ms. Josephine L. Sulasula exclaimed.


The collaboration at Nanyang Polytechnic was steered by ZPPSU Vice President for Administration and Finance Ms. Josephine Sulasula, together with the other university Vice Presidents — VPAA Dr. Maria Christina G. Wee, VPRE Dr. Rolando P. Malalay, and VPSAS Dr. Cyrus Pil Cadavedo.
Their collective leadership emphasized ZPPSU’s unified commitment to pursuing academic innovation, research advancement, and holistic student development through international partnerships.


Also, the reconnection with Nanyang Polytechnic was spearheaded by the International Affairs Office headed by Dr. Maria Cristina P. Andrade along with other core officials.
This diverse team composition ensured that academic, administrative, research, student services, and infrastructure perspectives were all represented, making the benchmarking visit a comprehensive and forward-looking engagement.
