With the goal of having more disaster emergency responders within the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University, the ZPPSU-Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) conducted an inclusive training among students of the different colleges and departments recently.
Class and college officers from College of Teachers Education (CTE), Institute of Technical Education (ITE), and selected students from the National Service Training Program (NSTP) were first successful participants who committed to be frontliners in times of natural occurrence of hazards and vulnerabilities.
The training is also expected to expand to other students from other departments and extension units.
Further, the ZPPSU-DRRMO team headed by Dr. Michael Cabiles is steadfast in rolling out significant information, skills training, and drills to help the university be equipped with sufficient knowledge and skills to respond effectively as well as in accordance with the safety protocols.
The ZPPSU-DRRMO is very grateful to have the support of the administration headed by President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral in prioritizing the organization of disaster emergency responders for the safety of each and every individual in ZPPSU. (JRA/Photos by: ZPPSU-DRRMO)
