STUDENT AFFAIRS AND SERVICES

OBJECTIVES

The Student Affairs and Services office adapts and utilizes the following objectives in conformity with the goals and objectives indicated in the CMO 09, s. 2013, that shall be in effect until further changes will be made. It serve as the guidelines in order to:

  1. Ensure students are able to distinguish the rights between that of the University and of the students through informative activities that direct students to understand the policies of the University and the rules and regulations for students in order to practice etiquette inside and outside the campus and to help students balance college life and pursue personal goals for future career;
  2. boost the quality of Student Affairs and Services in the University by conducting research and evaluation for enhancement based on comprehensive profile and information of students to serve as feedbacks and basis for planning and decision making;
  3. foster access to quality, efficient, and effective student affairs and services by providing students with opportunities and learning experiences that enhance students’ leadership capacities, interpersonal abilities, sense of responsibility, and social concern;
  4. support student development and welfare by creating healthy social relationships through various programs and activities to help students develop their potentials and to utilize their abilities to make them more productive and responsible citizens;
  5. ensure that the University yields to holistic approach for Student Affairs and Services and comply with the minimum requirements for student affairs and services by establishing a more dynamic and motivating connections to students through programs, services, and activities that response to students’ needs and well-being such as health services, scholarship programs, and other services that help students develop their social skills and social responsibility.

FUNCTIONS

The Office of the Student Affairs and Services is tasked to develop roadmap and the annual operation plan , respectively, of the Academic support experiences of students to attain holistic student welfare, student development and related institutional programs and services through: 

  • Systematic planning strategic annual student framework, (i.e. policies and rules, student program-project-activity and services) of the University.
  • Designing, developing and delivering University wide student programs and services that implement the vision of the University.
  • Supervision and regulation of student organizations and activities.
  • Systematic Planning and management of guidance services
  • Implementation and monitoring of the scholarships and any Financial Assistance programs of the University.
  • Management and conduct of the student disciplinary procedure.

ABOUT

The Office of the Student Affairs and Services of the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University plays the essential role in the achievement of the University’s main educational objectives in developing the moral, spiritual, intellectual, physical, entrepreneurial, and social capabilities among students. The office provides services to students that enhance learning experiences through different activities that seek to develop students’ holistic personality.

The office serves as the official channel of communication to the heads and authorities of the University and to the student body on matters concerning student welfare and development. Furthermore, the office works along with the administration in the implementation of the University’s rules and regulations and in guiding students toward appropriate behaviors.

The office is under the supervision of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Services headed by Dean appointed by the University president for a one-year term without prejudice to a redesignation with directors, heads, and coordinators to manage the different areas on student affairs and services.
